The difference between 37 and 31 cl looks small, but it decides what you use each glass for. A 33 cl bottle fits into the 37 cl beer glass with the head on top, and if you pour a craft beer there is still room for a decent collar. The 31 cl longdrink glass is narrower and taller, made for drinks with plenty of ice, where the ice takes up part of the volume. With a longdrink glass, always check the inner diameter: too narrow and an ice cube will not fit, too wide and the bubbles disappear too quickly. Pour beer in one movement into a tilted glass and bring the glass upright once you are halfway. For longdrinks, add the ice first and the spirit last, so you do not have to stir everything together. A gin and tonic is on the compact side at 31 cl but works well as long as you do not dilute it too much, and a moscow mule looks good in it when you are not using a copper mug.

Thin-walled glass rarely breaks because of the dishwasher itself, but almost always because glasses knock against each other or against cutlery. Place them separately in the top rack and do not let them rattle together. Rinse beer glasses thoroughly, because traces of grease or detergent break down the head even when the glass looks clean. Dry them standing up or hanging, and never face down on a tea towel.
