RCR Mixology

The assorted idea is the heart of this series and immediately the question you have to answer. If you want a bar where every glass is the same, Mixology is not the right choice. If you want every guest to get a slightly different glass, this is exactly what it was made for. The 35 cl tumbler is the low shape for spirits on ice and for short, stirred cocktails. The tall glasses between 36 and 44 cl are for everything you top up with tonic, ginger beer or soda. Compare them with the straight models among the highball glasses and the shapes among the cocktail glasses.

Cut glass looks best with clear drinks, because the light then breaks through the facets. A negroni in a cut tumbler over one large ice cube is the clearest example of that: red, clear and sharply outlined. For a mojito take the tall glass, because you need room for mint, lime and crushed ice. Stir short drinks separately and only then pour them into the cut glass, so you do not scratch the base with a bar spoon.

Luxion is RCR's lead-free crystal glass, harder than ordinary glass and made to be dishwasher safe. That is why you now see cut crystal behind a bar as well, where it used to sit only in a cupboard at home. Cut work does hold residue, so give the glass a quick rinse after sugary cocktails before it goes into the basket.
