The differences in size decide where you end up. The 45 cl Chardonnay is the smallest bowl and suits crisp white wine you would rather not keep in the glass for long. The 55 cl Chardonnay Grand Cru gives fuller whites and lighter reds more air. For red, choose the 70 cl Bordeaux for firm, tannic bottles and the 75 cl Burgundy for pinot noir or nebbiolo, where the wide bowl gathers the aroma. To lay sizes side by side, look at the red wine glasses and the large wine glasses.

Fill a bowl to about a third, so roughly 15 cl in the 70 cl Bordeaux. At that level you can swirl without spilling and the aroma stays above the surface of the wine. The 30 cl Old Martini is roomier than a classic martini glass and keeps a stirred dry martini cold for longer. The same bowl works for a negroni served without ice. The 45 and 50 cl tumblers are for ice and a long drink.

Talismano is made of lead-free crystalline glass, with a stem drawn from the same piece. That seamless transition between bowl and stem is stronger than a joined one, because that is exactly where wine glasses usually break first. The series is dishwasher safe. Place the bowls apart in the rack, as rims tapping together are the main cause of damage.
