What do you use a 90 cl magnum wine glass for?
For wine that needs room to open up, such as a young red with firm tannins. You pour an ordinary measure of 15 to 18 cl into it and use the rest of the bowl to swirl and to smell.
What is the difference between the tasting glass and the Bordeaux?
The 47 cl tasting glass is more compact and broadly usable for white and light red. The 58 cl Bordeaux has a taller bowl with a narrower opening, so a full-bodied red holds on to its scent for longer.
Is Galileo suitable for everyday use?
Yes, provided you store and wash the glasses with space around them. It is handmade crystalline glass and therefore thinner than machine-made glass, but on a short dishwasher programme at a low temperature the range copes fine with daily table use.
Does crystalline glass contain lead?
No. Crystalline is clear glass without lead oxide, which makes it suitable for keeping wine in for longer over a dinner. It can be blown thinly and therefore looks as clear as classic lead crystal.
