The 40.5 cl is the glass for white wine: small enough to stay chilled, yet with a bowl that still leaves room for swirling. The 57 cl is the all-rounder in which both a full-bodied white wine and a light red wine can shine, and this is the glass you will reach for most often. The 64.5 cl is intended for structured red wine, where the taller bowl gives the tannins time to settle. All three use the same serving size of 12 to 15 cl. Hold a glass with a drawn stem at the bottom of the stem or by the base, never by the bowl. This isn't just etiquette: with a thin-walled glass, you'll feel within a minute that your hand is warming the wine. Pour to about one-third full, swirl once, and smell before drinking. The 29 cl flute retains bubbles for a long time and is therefore also suitable for a champagne cocktail or a kir royal.

Thin crystal glass is not weak, but it is unforgiving: a knock against the tap or against another stem in the basket shows immediately. This range can go in the dishwasher on a short glass programme, provided the bowls never touch. Polish with a lint-free cloth and hold the bowl rather than twisting the foot, because twisting puts the force on the join.
