Puschkin Black Sun
Puschkin's darkest bottle: blackcurrant on a Puschkin vodka base, at 16.6%. Deep purple in the glass and at its best as an ice-cold shot, but also a great substitute for cassis in a glass of bubbles.

Blackcurrant, served ice-cold
Puschkin Black Sun is blackcurrant combined with Puschkin vodka. The vodka comes from Berlin, is distilled three times and finished with ice filtration, a step the brand traces back to an old Russian tradition. The berries give the drink its almost-black colour and full, sweet flavour.
At 16.6%, Black Sun is the lightest of the Puschkin flavours. So it's not a vodka to drink neat at room temperature, and the brand agrees: it's best served ice-cold as a shot. If you'd rather sip it slowly, use it as you would crème de cassis, with bubbles, ginger beer or sparkling water.
In brief
Dark fruit, sweet and full
Cassis and berry jam
Ripe blackcurrant, almost like a jar of berry jam, with a fresh green edge reminiscent of the shrub's leaves.
Sweet and juicy
Full and sweet, with the slight tartness of blackcurrant. It becomes thick and velvety straight from the freezer.
Tangy and warm
The berry lingers, with a gentle warmth from the vodka. Less bitter than Puschkin Red, rounder and darker.
The flavor profile of Puschkin Black Sun, ice-cold as a shot. With bubbles or ginger beer, it becomes drier and fresher.
Three ways to serve Black Sun
Keep the bottle in the freezer. The colder it is, the thicker and smoother the shot, and the less the sweetness dominates.
Freezer shot
2 cl Black Sun in a shot glass that's been in the freezer for a while. Bold, dark, and gone in one: that's how it's meant to be.
Shot glasses →Black Sun Royal
15 ml Black Sun at the bottom of a chilled coupe, topped up with 100 ml dry prosecco or champagne. It works like a Kir Royal, but with a vodka heart and a little extra sweetness.
Go to the Kir Royal →With ginger beer
30 ml Puschkin Vodka and 20 ml Black Sun with 120 ml ginger beer and a splash of lime juice in a copper mug full of ice. A dark, berry-forward mule.

Blackcurrant is a classic cocktail flavor. Black Sun replaces cassis or a dark berry syrup and brings a little vodka with it.

Kir Royal
Cassis with champagne. With Black Sun instead of cassis, you get a lighter, slightly sweeter version.
Moscow Mule
Vodka, ginger beer, and lime. A splash of Black Sun turns it into a dark purple berry mule.
Purple Rain
The purple party cocktail. Black Sun gives it extra color and a berry undertone.
Halloween cocktails
Dark and spooky drinks. A black Black Sun shot fits right in.More Puschkin flavors
