Johnnie Walker Blue Label
The top of the range, made from whiskies so rare that only one in ten thousand casks is good enough. Chocolate, ripe fruit, and a long finish of honey and smoke. A whisky to sip slowly.

One cask in ten thousand
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blend of the rarest and most exceptional whiskies in the house's reserves: aged malt and grain whiskies from Scotland. According to the brand, only one in every ten thousand casks has the quality, character, and flavor needed for this blend. The bottle carries no age statement; selection by cask is the guiding principle.
In the glass, that means a whisky that's velvety smooth, with chocolate, sweet, ripe fruit, and a spicy, smoky, honeyed finish. The alcohol content is 40%, the same as the rest of the range. Blue Label is the bottle for a special occasion and a classic gift for anyone who loves whisky.
At a glance
Velvet, chocolate, and honeyed smoke
Ripe fruit
Sweet, ripe fruit, with a warm, deep aroma that slowly opens up if you let the glass sit for a while.
Chocolate
Soft and full, with chocolate and sweet fruit. No harsh edges, and the alcohol stays surprisingly in the background.
Honey, spice, and smoke
A soft, long finish that is spicy, smoky, and honeyed. This is what sets it apart from the younger labels.
Blue Label's flavor profile neat, after a sip of ice water. Served warm, the honey and smoke stand out more.
How to taste Blue Label
The brand has its own ritual for it: ice water first, then the whisky. No ice in the glass, no soda.
The ice water ritual
First take a sip of ice-cold water to cleanse and cool your palate. Then pour 30 ml of Blue Label into a tulip glass and take a small sip. The chill brings out the sweetness and fruit especially well.
Tasting glasses →Slowly, in three steps
Smell first with your mouth slightly open, then take a small sip and let it linger. Wait a moment and notice the finish: honey, spices, and smoke only come through after a few seconds.
Glass: tasting glass →With dark chocolate
30 ml in a thin crystal glass alongside a piece of dark chocolate. Taste them alternately: it brings out the chocolate notes in the whisky.
Whisky glasses →Still want to mix with Blue Label?
Honestly, Blue Label is a whisky to drink neat. If you do want to make a cocktail with it, choose recipes made almost entirely with whisky.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, a little sugar, and bitters over a large ice cube. The most luxurious way to mix a top whisky.
Rusty Nail
Scotch with a small splash of Drambuie. Go easy on the liqueur, so the honey notes of Blue Label still come through.
Rob Roy
Scotch, sweet vermouth, and bitters, stirred and strained. A stylish cocktail for a special evening.
