The julep cup is one of the few pieces of barware where frost forming on the outside is part of the presentation. This 40 cl version follows the classic American shape: straight, slightly tapered, and without a handle.
Crushed ice and a frosted exterior
A mint julep is built over finely crushed ice, and the cup’s metal absorbs the cold so directly that a white layer of frost forms on the outside within a minute. That is exactly the idea: it is the visual signal that the drink has reached the right temperature. Hold the cup at the bottom or by the rim to keep the layer intact.
