This sommelier corkscrew from Bar Professional is made of gold-colored gold-plated stainless steel and fits perfectly in your hand and your apron pocket. It is the classic waiter's corkscrew found in restaurants: a compact, folding model with a small serrated knife for the foil, a non-stick-coated spiral, and a two-step lever. Thanks to the double lever, you can pull a cork out of the bottle in two smooth movements, without having to wiggle it or risk the cork breaking halfway through. The lever also incorporates a crown cap opener, so you can open both wine and beer with one tool.
Why a two-step lever?
With long corks, a single lever often falls short: you have to reposition it halfway through, which is precisely when a cork can split. The two-step construction distributes the force across two support points, allowing you to pull in a controlled and even manner. For sommeliers and serving staff who open dozens of bottles each evening, this noticeably reduces strain on the wrist and the number of failed cork extractions.
