Lehmann Islay Tasting Glass

The tulip shape concentrates smoke, fruit and barrel aromas right at the nose - the difference between drinking and tasting. Also view the tasting glasses and whiskey glasses. Lehmann has been a tasting glass specialist since the 1990s - the Islay applies that expertise to whisky. A set of Islay glasses with a good bottle is the perfect gift for the whisky enthusiast. Combine with a whiskey decanter.

For whisky lovers, Islay is what Burgundy is for wine drinkers: sacred ground. The island’s smoky single malts - peat, sea, iodine - are complex enough to justify a specialized glass, and that is precisely what this nosing model is: the tulip shape unravels the smoke layer by layer. Anyone who drinks their Islay malts from a tumbler hears only half the story.

This is how you use the glass like a blender: pour 2 to 3 cl, let it stand for a minute, and nose it in stages - first from a distance for the smoke, then closer for the fruit and cask. A drop of water opens up closed malts. The small pour is intentional: at tastings with multiple drams, it keeps both your nose and your judgment sharp. Six glasses and your home tasting is professionally equipped.

For the whisky enthusiast, a set of Islay glasses with a good bottle is the gift that hits the mark: the glass says “I know what you drink” before the cork is even off. Combine it with the whisky glasses category for the broader selection - but for the smoky style, this is the tool of the trade. Supplied in sets of six, packaged to prevent breakage. Order the Islay in sets of 6 with a 100% breakage-free guarantee. Stackable discounts of up to 15% via hospitality glasses.
