The 40 cl is the bowl for white wine and for light reds such as a gamay or a young pinot. The 52 cl is there for everything with tannin: cabernet, syrah, nebbiolo. In both cases you pour to just below the kink, because that is the widest point and therefore the largest evaporation surface. The 50 cl tumbler is substantial and belongs with the old fashioned glasses, with room for one large block of ice. The 24 cl flute is the tallest of the line-up and holds the bubbles longest.

A bottle of red wine poured into Power often no longer needs decanting, simply because the glass takes over most of that work. Two minutes of swirling does more than half an hour in the carafe. In the 50 cl tumbler you build an old fashioned: sugar, bitters, bourbon and one block of ice that you let melt slowly. A negroni goes in the same glass, but stirred and strained over fresh ice.

Lead-free crystal glass is harder than lead crystal and handles the dishwasher without any trouble. Choose a short glassware programme, keep the temperature below sixty degrees and rinse with soft water if you live in a hard-water area. When drying, the kink in the bowl picks up lint easily, so use a microfibre cloth. Store the glasses upright, not on the rim.
