Onis Linq

Choose by height and capacity at the same time, because those are not the same thing with stackable glassware. The 26.6 cl tumbler is low and wide and suits water and soft drinks at the table. The 35.5 cl has the same shape but is roomier, making it suitable for drinks over ice. The 29.6 and 41.4 cl highball glasses are slimmer and taller, so carbonation lasts longer and the garnish stays upright instead of tipping over. For a business that wants to use one series, the combination of 26.6 and 41.4 cl is the most commonly used. Compare them with the wider highball glasses and the stackable glasses from other brands.

A tall, narrow glass retains bubbles better than a wide glass, simply because the surface area through which carbonation escapes is smaller. Fill the 41.4 cl long drink glass completely with ice, add the spirits, and slowly pour the tonic or cola over a spoon into the glass. This keeps the fizz in. A gin and tonic works best in this size, and there is enough room for a Cuba Libre with lime.

Stacking works fine as long as the glasses are dry and clean. Damp glasses suck onto each other, and pulling them apart takes a rim with it. So let them drain completely on a rack first and only stack afterwards, no more than four or five high. In the dishwasher, place them separately in the basket. Limescale makes glasses rougher and more likely to jam, so soft water helps twice over.

For the same size in other shapes, see the tumbler glasses. The tall, slender models for coffee with a layer of milk are listed under latte macchiato glasses. You can find the full range from the brand from Leerdam under Onis, and the accompanying tools under bar spoons. If you are looking for something with more character than clean lines, there are series with facets or relief that combine the same stackability with a more classic appearance.
