On paper, the difference between the two highball glasses is small, but it is noticeable in use. The 29.5 cl is the size for soft drinks and for a mixed drink where you do not want to use much ice. The 35.5 cl leaves room for a full portion of ice plus about 15 cl of mixer, and is the safer choice if you work with fixed pour sizes. Build a long drink from the bottom up: first fill the glass with ice, then add the spirit, and only then the mixer. This way, the drink mixes itself and you hardly need to stir it. The 35.5 cl glass holds a Cuba Libre with 5 cl of rum and cola filled to just below the rim. The same size is useful for a mojito because mint and lime need enough room at the bottom before the crushed ice is added.

The glasses handle dishwashing at high temperatures. What actually wrecks glasses in practice is stacking: two tumblers jammed inside one another rarely come apart intact, so store them side by side.
