Onis Bespoke

Here, the shape determines how long your drink stays cold. The 12 cl coupe is the smallest and therefore the safest for strong, undiluted serves: it’s gone before it gets lukewarm. The Nick and Nora glass of 15.5 cl has a tulip shape that retains aromas and is less prone to sloshing than a martini glass. That 19 cl martini glass has the classic conical shape, attractive but prone to spills. The 28 cl coupe is spacious and intended for cocktails with foam or for champagne. The 41 and 66.5 cl goblets cover white and red.

Always chill serving glasses before pouring: ten minutes in the freezer or briefly fill them with ice water. Without ice in the glass, the chill of the glass itself is all you have. For a Dry Martini stir the gin and vermouth with ice for at least thirty seconds, strain into the coupe, and twist a lemon peel over the surface. An Espresso Martini should be shaken hard instead, so the foam layer remains in the 28 cl coupe.

The stem is the vulnerable part of any stemmed glass. In the dishwasher they almost never break because of the heat, but because they tip over or knock against each other as the spray arm turns. Use a basket with compartments, or a rack that grips the foot. Never pick up a glass by the bowl while the foot is still wet, because then the stem twists and breaks after all.

Other series from the brand can be found at Onis. If you want to compare shaped glasses side by side, see coupe glasses and the broader models under champagne coupe glasses, which also includes the classic coupes. The two wine glasses can be compared with other brands under red wine glasses, sorted by capacity. To make these serves, you will also need a cocktail shaker , and a bar spoon for the stirred variations.
