Arcoroc Westloop

Every glass in this series does something different, so you choose by serve rather than by taste. The 27 cl martini glass is generous: good for cocktails with plenty of volume such as a Cosmopolitan, less handy if you fill it to the brim and then have to walk. The 32 cl tumbler is the whisky and Old Fashioned size. The 36 and 40 cl highball glasses part ways in use: 36 cl for mixed drinks with a normal amount of ice, 40 cl if you fill the glass right up. The 32 cl cognac glass has a rounded bowl that catches the aroma under the rim.

With a rounded cognac glass you do not warm the drink with your hand, that idea is outdated: pour 4 cl, leave the glass on the table and turn it once. The aroma then gathers under the narrow rim by itself. For a Cuba Libre, fill the 40 cl highball glass completely with ice before you add rum and cola, and squeeze the lime above the glass so the oil from the peel goes in with it. For the martini glass the rule is: chill first, then pour.

Krisal is glass that is given extra reinforcement during production, which makes it better able to handle changes in temperature. You notice that when a warm glass comes out of the dishwasher and you pour cold water straight into it. The heavy base also keeps the glasses stable in the crate. Place the cognac glass in the crate opening down, otherwise a pool of water is left sitting on the rounded wall.
