The Bar Professional Nakiri knife is a Japanese-inspired knife with a straight, thin 16.5 cm blade. Whereas a classic chef’s knife rocks, you cut straight down with a nakiri: the entire blade makes contact with the cutting board, so you can slice through herbs, citrus slices, cucumber, and ginger in a single motion. A so-called Spanish point has been added to the tip, allowing you to perform delicate tasks such as cutting garnishes with precision.
Made for work behind the bar
The curved handle gives you maximum control and keeps your knuckles clear of the board, even when you are slicing for extended periods. The steel blade is sturdy enough to work with ice—handy when reducing large blocks to clear pieces for old fashioneds or highballs. The knife is dishwasher-safe, although you can keep the edge sharpest for longest by rinsing it by hand and storing it dry.
